ALEX BERDYSHEFF
I
explore different techniques, including, almost always, the qualities of
found and manipulated two or three dimensional objects or textural components.
All these materials
turned into colors, shapes, lines and textures, sometimes hidden but still
existing somewhere between the layers of paint - oil, acrylic or whatever,
create an impression that things are often not what they seem, giving rise
to doubt in the reality of visible.
Started as a surrealist
and still trying to follow the ideas of this great movement I feel that
my work is getting more and more abstract, though the last thing I care
about is if I get representative or abstract result.
..In this maze of moving and always
changing walls, outside all known forms of thought, our Spirit stirs, watching
for its most secret and spontaneous movements - those with the character
of a revelation, an air of having come from elsewhere, of having fallen
from the sky...
